Piacenza: a strategic position at the connection of the axes crossing the Euro-Mediterranean area.

The strategic position of Piacenza is determined by its proximity to two trans-European corridors: Corridor V Lisbon - Kiev (from west to east) and the TEN 24, the Genoa-Rotterdam rail axis (from north to south).
The position is even more strategic thanks to the proximity to the crossing points of the Berlin-Palermo Corridor I and the two Sea Highways of the Western and Eastern Mediterranean system.

The strategic position of Piacenza is also determined by its location towards the main road and rail communication routes.
It is situated at an equal distance from the main Italian seaports and in the centre of the most important airport system in Southern Europe. Thanks to this position, Piacenza plays a role of contact between the metropolitan system of Milan/Po Valley and the molecular industrial system of Emilia.
